Q&A with Gall Secondee Takashi Ugajin

Registered Foreign Lawyer Takashi Ugajin was seconded to Gall from Mori Hamada & Matsumoto (MHM), one of the Big Four law firms in Japan, last September. He shares how the opportunity to be seconded arose, what he enjoys about working at Gall and how the legal industry differs in Hong Kong to Japan. He also offers his advice to other Japanese lawyers exploring secondments.

Gall announces Felda Yeung’s promotion to Senior Associate

The Firm is delighted to announce Felda Yeung’s promotion to Senior Associate. The promotion takes place with immediate effect.Felda joined Gall as a trainee solicitor in 2011 was admitted as a Solicitor in Hong Kong in 2013. She is a disputes lawyer experienced in commercial and civil litigation, with a focus on arbitration, contractual disputes and fraud investigations.

Gall sponsors the YDA Annual Spring Fling fundraiser to support children in Hong Kong with diabetes.

Gall was proud and delighted to be one of the sponsors at this year’s YDA (Youth Diabetes Action) Spring Fling, the YDA’s annual fundraiser to support children in Hong Kong suffering from diabetes. The theme for the night was “Le Grand Tour”, a night of car racing, music and an inspirational talk by racing car driver Dan Wells. The event was help to raise funds for equipment for the YDA’s newly purchased Centre of Excellence.

Gall supports the official launch of Women in Law Hong Kong

A number of Hong Kong’s leading law firms joined forces to launch a new and exciting legal community – Women in Law Hong Kong (WILHK). Providing a networking platform for private practice lawyers, in-house counsel and other legal professionals in Hong Kong, WILHK also aims to encourage collaboration, integration and education amongst law firms and in-house counsel in Hong Kong; foster the development and retention of women in the legal profession; and bring to the forefront of the industry issues affecting women working in the legal profession in Hong Kong.
