The nominations for the inaugural Asialaw Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards have been announced. On September 24, Asia’s leading dispute resolution lawyers will gather in Hong Kong to celebrate the progress of litigation and dispute resolution in the legal profession.
This Wolters Kluwer Hong Kong's flagship event was held on Wednesday 8 July at Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast.The event provided many international arbitration updates and insights from speakers around the world, making this event a truly international summit.
A number of Hong Kong’s leading law firms joined forces to launch a new and exciting legal community – Women in Law Hong Kong (WILHK). Providing a networking platform for private practice lawyers, in-house counsel and other legal professionals in Hong Kong, WILHK also aims to encourage collaboration, integration and education amongst law firms and in-house counsel in Hong Kong; foster the development and retention of women in the legal profession; and bring to the forefront of the industry issues affecting women working in the legal profession in Hong Kong.
Gall was proud to be a sponsor of the AmCham HK Ball 2015. The theme for the night was La Carousel Americano, guests arrived and were welcomed with a Gall “The Litigator” cocktail. A great night was had by all.
The conference was jointly organised by AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers) and the American Bar Association Section of International Law. The first of its kind conference on same sex families and covered various aspects of the law including family, private client, employment, immigration, reputation management and tax. Each of eleven panels addressed a different aspect of the law affecting a same sex fictional family of 2 gay men and their 2 children (one born through surrogacy and one adopted). Each member of each panel gave a presentation about the law in their respective jurisdictions. Caroline presented on disputes relating to children on separation with reference to Hong Kong.
The cover story in Asian Legal Business’ February magazine features the ALB Firms to Watch 2015 list. Gall has been selected as one of 10 firms across Asia to be included on a list which “celebrates firms that may be small on size but are big on potential”.
